Here we present some of the views that may not be commonly available. We were fortunate to have this privilege and the least that we would like to do is share it with fellow travellers. Please bear with lack of technical proficiency and artistic touch. It is a layman's work....

(If we were to go beyond Shanti Stupa and look at Leh from that angle)

(Try and spot Tsemo Castle Ridge separating Changspa/Lamdon area from Polo Ground area)

(Inching up to South Pullu from Leh side)

(South Pullu and loops ahead that take us to K'La)

(A closer look at waiting vehicles at South Pullu)

(Road descending from K'La into Nubra Valley (above North Pullu)

(Partners for life....Road runs along Shyok River)

(Kabab Mein Haddi...Road in Shyok Bed intervenes into the romantic companionship between river and road descending from K'La)

(The red speck in the pic is the new MaitryeBudhha statue at Diskit Monastery. It will be inaugurated by HH the 14th Dalai Lama on 25 July 2010 (Alas, I would be away on Spiti ride that day)

(Confluence of Shyok River (from East, through Aksiachin, at the bottom, left of the pic WITH Nubra River (from North and on the right and top portion of the pic at a point near Sumur Village)

(Chaursa Village across Nubra River is being connected directly with Diskit now. It will save 75kms of travel to this place from Diskit, via Panamik (that too fair weather)

(A lazy Nubra River stretches itself a bit)

(Offset to the rear, the conical feature is SaserBrangsa, a cousin of and a member of SaserKangri (complex))

(The real charm of SaserBrangsa is the approach till Camp 1 for which a traveller has to negotiate these Loops near Sasoma. Called Tulum PuliTokpa, these loops are infested with stretches with loose, shooting stones. So, we have Gatta, Hangru and Sasoma Loops that look similar to one another, in some way. BTW, a route to Saser La takes off beyond Camp 2 and this was the alignment traders followed during old days, basically before 20th century. The route, closer to Saser La in Karakoram Ranges, is littered with skeletons of dead mules and animals and possibly with those of humans, (both traders and porters)

(Natural symmetry)

(This is Yarma Village, complete with its Gompa. This is the last but one village before world's highest battleground. Warshi, 4 kms ahead and on the other side of Nubra River, is actually the last one)

(The white streak in the valley is the beginning of a massive glacier that houses the highest battleground of the world. The grey area short of the white streak is nothing but snout of the big boss)

(And that is how HEROs are remembered by a grateful organisation and not that grateful a nation)

(View of Stok Range as we approach K'La)

(This is what water does to a high altitude desert (Hunder)

(Barrenness of land does not let people forget the Ultimate Power
